The Kirby salesman came by today and showed us a demonstration. I was absolutely disgusted by how filthy my carpet is. We have cats, and he pulled up cat hair from places where I had never even seen them. There was so much crap in my carpet. I have allergies, and I could not believe that I had been breathing that stuff. We vacuum 2-3 times a week, and you would've thought we lived in a barn from the stuff on that filter. So has anyone else used a Kirby, bought one, etc.? Did it help with allergies? Are you happy with it in the long run? We paid 2300 dollars, so I would like to know if it will be worth it.
i need to know if anyone here has ever had one or if anyone is looking at getting one ?
I have a Kirby Ultimate G and its just sitting in my closet because the bags for it are too expensive. Since our vacuum recently broke, I was wondering if the ultimate G can use other types of vacuum bags? otherwise i might as well try to sell it. Thanks for the help.
Oh btw, i didnt buy it. it was a going away present from a family friend.
I bought a G3 for $10 at a garage sale, it didn't come with ANY parts or attachments, and I had never heard of Kirby vacuums before. I am very impressed with how well it works. Now I am wondering if it is worth buying attachments for it. (I know there are lots of Kirby attachments on Ebay)
Kirby owners, please be honest, which attachments do you actually use? ... the shampooer? the sander? the head massager?
I have had this vacuum for a couple months & I want to use some of the shampoo I have around the house BUT I don't want to hurt the shampoo system (which OF COARSE says to use only Kirby brand shampoo).
Any one have any experience with this??
I believe I put it together the right way and I use one cup of the cleaning solution per line. Yes the smaller part of the cup, I didn't put too much soap so don't say that. When I use it, a whole bunch of soap foam started coming out. I could start a foam party with this. It's a lot. I googled instructions and instruction videos and it seems I'm doing everything right. Can anyone help me and tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I want to shampoo a used sofa + love seat before I use it and I have the Kirby Diamond G series vacuum. There is a suds nozzle that looks like it is for upholstery, but I don't have a manual. Can someone PLEASE help me! I have searched everywhere on the internet for instructions to this.
THANKS!
I thought I would be getting an awesome machine, I know these things can last for 10-30 years. I hear they should have great suction and pick up more dirt then your normal vacuum picks up. I adjusted the height, and the bristle position, but still, if I use the Eureka after using the Kirby, the Eureka picks up dirt. I have short carpet. The Kirby is a G6 2001 limited edition. If you need more info I will supply.
What can I do to get this vacuum to be at its prime condition? Or do Kirby's really just not do that good?
